Our goal is to help you judge the offer, not rush you into buying. Here is what goes into a published listing.
1. Identify the exact product
We check the model, seller, condition, and relevant specifications. For computers, that includes processor, graphics, memory, and storage. For displays, size and resolution matter. Conflicting retailer specifications are flagged instead of silently treated as fact.
2. Check the offer at its source
We open the retailer’s product page, check the displayed price and purchase availability, and save the product link with a check time. Prices are in US dollars and may exclude tax and shipping. Stock, shipping, and pickup options depend on location.
3. Explain who it may suit
Each listing includes our editorial assessment and a concrete limitation. These are specification-based assessments, not hands-on product reviews. We do not invent benchmark scores, testimonials, price histories, or “lowest ever” claims.
4. Keep savings claims specific
A retailer’s “comparable value” is not necessarily its previous selling price. We do not use that figure as a crossed-out former price. We leave offer end dates blank when the retailer does not give a reliable deadline.
5. Retire stale offers
Published prices are snapshots, not live feeds. Listings leave the active catalog 24 hours after their last check, or sooner when a known offer deadline passes. They need a fresh manual review before returning. A small catalog or no active offers is preferable to promoting old prices.
